Died at Brantford Hospital following an operation for internal goitre, on Friday, 18 Jun 1920 Emma Matilda Petheram, wife of Arthur J. Smye, 29 Talbot Street north.

Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Petheram of Simcoe, and in her 44th year. She was a loving mother and dutiful wife and had always been able to attend to the household duties.

She left the day previous to her death for Brantford for the operation which proved fatal. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to Mr. Smye and young son in their sad and unexpected bereavement.
