Death of Mrs. Matthews

Mrs. Surbina [sic] Matthews, widow of the late Daniel Matthews, died at her home in this place on Saturday, 10 Nov 1923, in her 70th year, after an illness of five weeks.

Deceased had always lived in Waterford and vicinity and was a daughter of the late Wm. Smith of Windham.

Five daughters and two sons survive. They are:
Mrs. W. Fink of Scotland, Mrs. Joe Hammond of Galt,
Mrs. L. A. Hilliker of Port Hope, John of Waterford,
Mrs. Thos. Coates of Simcoe, Mrs. Harry Corban of Detroit,
Harry of Windsor..

The funeral was held from her late residence on Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended by sorrowing friends, of who she had many.

The service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. D. MacLachian, and interment took place in Round Plains cemetery.
