Died in Woodhouse

Mrs. Wm. Rose died at her home near Port Dover on Tuesday morning, in her 88th year, after an illness of several weeks.

He husband and one gentleman in Port Dover are the only people living that were in Dover when she first settled there.

She came to Dover over 60 years ago and has been married to Mr. Wm. Rose 61 years. They were probably the oldest married couple in Norfolk County.

Her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Martin of Chicago, has been in constant care over her for the past seven weeks and last week messages were sent to her sons stating that the end was near.

Dr. Rose, of Chicago, sent word that he would arrive on Sunday afternoon and his coming was anxiously waited for as she was sinking rapidly, but was still conscious and knew every person.

The true love of a mother was manifest in this dear old lady as her whole mind was centered on her children in her dying moments.

She leaves a husband and five sons and one daughter, John Rose and A. G. Rose of Woodhouse, Dr. D. Rose of Chicago, Dr. Wm. Rose of Grand Rapids, Dr. Daniel Rose of Muskegon, Mich., and Mrs. Martin of Chicago.

One son, George, and one daughter, Jane, wife of P. J. Pearce of Waterford, preceded her.

The funeral takes place this morning at 10.30 from her old home to the Woodhouse cemetery.
