On 5 Apr 2010 we received the following email from Rodgers' descendant
Susan McShannon-Monteith regarding our transcription of her ancestor's cemetery stone.

Carry is really Fanny

Hello John,

It has come to my attention that there is some incorrect information under the list of Rodgers in the cemetery transcriptions of Jericho Cemetery.

A trip to the cemetery and an actual rubbing of the stone would verify my info. The stone actually reads Fanny wife of Arnold Rodgers, not Carry as listed in the transcript.

She was my great great great grandmother Fanny Pattison, daughter of John Pattison and Catherine Carter, born 15 Feb 1807 in Welland County. She moved to Norfolk County as the widow of Arnold Rodgers with her sons Arnold, James, John, William, Jacob and daughter Catherine.

She remained there living in a house with her son James almost directly across from the cemetery until her death. I have a photo of her standing next to the house.

Her sons William and James as well as several grandchildren and daughter-in-laws are all buried in Jericho though some do not have markers. Sara who married a Mills, Ida May who married a Wilson and Bertha who married a Wilson are granddaughters that are buried there as well as grandsons Freeman and Walter Ernest.

I assure you this info is correct as I have been researching my family for some time now and have verified it with family records. If any additional information is needed please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely, Susan McShannon-Monteith..
