A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 8 of the 
21 Aug 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper. 

The second meeting in the interests of prohibition was held in St. James Methodist Sunday School hall on Monday evening.

The meeting was presided over by 
J. B. Jackson, president, 
Andrew McKnight, secretary, and 
Rev. Charles K. Morrow, organizer for the county.

Captains for polling sub-divisions were elected as follows: C. M. Brookfield, 
Morton Brown, H. Frank Cook, 
W. L. Innes, D. G. McKnight, 
A. George Rose, Arthur Ryerse.
