St. Williams: Funeral services for Elwhin Price were held on
Friday afternoon from the Johnson Bros.' Funeral Home. Rev. P. D.
Augustine, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducted the service.
Interment was made in Hillcrest Cemetery, Forestville.
The late Mr. Price, a resident of Norfolk County all his life,
passed away
on Thursday morning at his home, following a lengthy illness. However,
he had been confined to his bed for only two days. He was in his 82nd
year.
He was born in Charlotteville, in 1865, the son of the late William
Price and Lucetta Johnson.
In May, 1889, he married Hannah Procunier, at Forestville. They
first
took up residence at Port Rowan West, later living in Forestville,
Walsh and St. Williams.
To them were born two sons, Ranney at home, and Kenneth of Windsor.
Also left to mourn are three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Price had farmed all his life, until his recent
retirement.
He was a great lover of horses and took great pride in training
them.
In his younger days, when the horse and buggy were popular, he drove
the smartest team in the community.
Relatives at the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Price and daughter Edna of Windsor, who are spending a few days here;
Fred Parsons of Vittoria, Mr. William Hunter of Normandale, and Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Howick of Forestville.
The pallbearers were Fred Curtis, Percy Smith, Clark Smith, Jack
Hunter, Pearl Johnson and George Mutrie.
