Boy of 15 Accidentally
Shot Dead by Child

A sad fatality occurred at Beach Lane, this County, a small village about 10 miles south of Tillsonburg last Tuesday.

Two young lads, named Williams and Pickersgill, spent the morning hunting rabbits in the fields near home.

At noon they went to the Williams boy's home for dinner.

While there young Pickersgill placed his loaded gun in the corner and knelt on the floor to muzzle his ferret.

Jimmie, the little four year old brother of the Williams boy, playfully dragged the gun from the corner and pointing it at the Pickersgill boy, said "I'm going to shoot you."

In some manner the gun was discharged, the entering the head of the kneeling boy, instantly killing him.

The grief stricken parents have the sympathy of the whole community in their particularly sad loss. The victim was a bright lad of about 15 years, while his unhappy slayer is a baby of only four years.
