The Late Esther Murray

After a two week illness of pneumonia, Mrs. Ester [sic] Murray, aged 83 years, the widow of the late Wm. Murray of Waterford, died at the residence of her son Wesley, in Port Huron on 16 Apr 1910.

The deceased was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Pegg, and was born near Simcoe in 1828. She married Wm. Murray and lived on the farm near Waterford until the death of her husband and about 30 years ago, when she had resided with her son Wesley and wife.

She leaves three sons, Charles G. Murray of Waterford, Wesley and W. Murray of Port Huron.

Died in Port Huron

Port Huron Herald.-- After a two weeks' illness of pneumonia, Mrs. Esther Murray, aged 82 years, the widow of the late Wm. Murray, of Waterford, Ont., died at the residence of her son, Wesley, 1131 St. Clair st., at an early hour this morning.

Deceased was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Pegg, and was born near Simcoe, Ont., April 11, 1828. She married Wm. Murray and lived on the farm near Waterford, Ont., until the death of her husband about 30 years ago, since when she had resided in this city with her son, Wesley, and wife.

She was a faithful and constant member of the Baptist church and her heart and hand were ever open to the call of charity, and many a suffering neighbor and wanderer received relief from her. She was the last surviving member of a family of eleven, and retained her mental and physical faculties to a remarkable degree, being able to read and sew with the aid of glasses until her death.

She leaves three sons, Charles G. Murray, of Waterford, Wesley of this city, and W. Murray also of this city, besides a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held at the residence on St. Clair street, this evening at 7.30 o'clock, after which the remains will be shipped to Waterford for interment in Greenwood Cemetery, beside those of her late husband.

The funeral was held from the residence of her son, Mr. C. G. Murray, on Sunday morning.
