The Late Mrs. Josephine Parker

At the residence of her son, Edward, in Colborne village, Townsend, death came to Mrs. Josephine Parker, in her 80th year. Until ten days prior to her demise the deceased enjoyed excellent health. By accident she fell, and sustained such injuries as medical aid and loving hands could not relieve, resulting in her death on the 7th inst.

Mrs. Parker was a native of Pennsylvania, being born there in 1834. She came to Canada with her husband, Thomas Parker, in 1877. In religion she was a staunch Methodist and for years was a faithful worker in the Normandale church.

The funeral took place from her son's home on Jan.[.]th, the service being conducted by Rev. W. H. Garnham, pastor of Old Windham circuit. Six grandsons of the deceased acted as bearers. Interment was made at Normandale, where the aged lady was laid to beside her husband, who predeceased her some nineteen years. Rev. Mr. Ostrander conducted the service at the grave.

Mrs. Parker is survived by one son, Edward, above mentioned, and one daughter, Mrs. James Overholt, of Normandale. In addition there are thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to miss the loving care and work of dear hands now folded by God's will forever.
