A lightly edited partial transcription of the Port Rowan column on page 3 of the 21 Aug 1919 issue
of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

G. W. O'Kell died at his home in this village last Friday after a somewhat lengthy illness, at the age of 75 years.

The remains were taken to Scranton, Pa., for burial on Sunday.

Mr. O'Kell was born in Scotland and had spent the greater part of his life in the United States, where he had material interests.

He came here about 10 years ago and concluded to settle in this village, and had been an exemplary citizen and his death will cause very deep regret to a large circle of intimate friends, who will sympathize with Mrs. O'Kell in her sad loss.
