We have been advised by Mr. Brook
Noble of 257 Talbot Street, Simcoe, that an item appearing in last week's
Reformer in reference to his refusing $300 for half an acre of tobacco was
not correct, and very misleading.
Mr. Noble states that he has no
tobacco at all (and doesn't even say that he smokes), and that if he had a
half acre he would not be such a fool as to decline an offer of $300.
We apologize to Mr. Noble for
misrepresenting him and had no intention of showing him up to the public
under false colors.
The item was inserted in our
columns as coming from a reliable source, and we are sorry that such was
not the case.
