William A. Merritt

Mr. William A. Merritt died at his home, West Mechanic Street, on Thursday, April 6th, aged 80 years. after an illness of about three months with the flu and com-plications. He was born in Windham Township and went ot school in Round Plains, later living in Parkhill for about a year. and returned to Waterford.

Deceased was a true friend of his many acquaintances and of a retiring disposition. He worked at the carpenter trade in this place for many years. He was a member of the Paptist Church and the Loyal Orange Lodge.

One son, Arthur, survives.

The funeral was held from his late home on Saturday afternoon, the service being conducted by Rev. H. B. Bridge. Interment was in Greenwood.

The pallbearers were Geo. M. Lee, L. L. Lefler, Wm. Barber, R. R. Charlton, Robert Stickles and Earl Burns.
