Mrs. George F. Holden

Port Dover: The death of Mrs. George F. Holden occurred on Sunday at her home, St. George Street, following seven weeks' illness, in her 78th year.

Formerly Lucy L. McCool, deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCool of Waterford. Her first husband was John Barkley Moore and after his death she married Mr. Holden, who predeceased her in 1935.

She was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church and of the W.M.S. and the Ladies Aid, also being a member of Silver Lake Rebekah Lodge, Port Dover, and of Mercer Chapter, O.E.S., Simcoe.

Surviving are two sons, Hilton Moore of Detroit and Horatio Holden of Port Dover; and four daughters, Mrs. Everett (Nellie) Strople of Port Dover, Mrs. Lorne (Alice) Husted of Dundas, Mrs. Frank (Laura) Ryerse of Simcoe, and Mrs. Charles (Erie) Hargraves of Toronto, also 18 grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held from the home on Tuesday at two o'clock with a public service at Knox Presbyterian Church at 2.30. Rev. A. W. Hare, minister of the church, will officiate and interment will be in Port Dover Cemetery.
