Mrs. Helen E. Chute

Mrs. Helen E. Chute, widow of James E. Chute, died on Tuesday night, Dec. 22nd, at her home on Harvey Street, Aylmer, following a short illness.

She was in her 88th year and was a member of a pioneer family of the Long Point Settlement, Norfolk County. Born in Walsingham Township, she was a daughter of the late Andrew McCleish and Mary Jane Franklin. 

Sixty-one years ago she married James E. Chute and lived at Lakeview, on the first concession of Bayham, until coming to Aylmer twenty years ago.

She was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church and for many years was active in the Mission Circle and Ladies Aid. 

Her husband predeceased her 13 years ago. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R. C. Harrison, and two grandsons, George and Jim Harrison, all of Aylmer; a brother, Austin McCleish, of Riverside, California.

The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock. Rev. J. Willox [sic] Duncan had charge of the service and interment was made in Aylmer Cemetery.
