Sarah Stewart, wife of Rev. Walter E. Mason of Townsend, passed away at their home on Thursday. She had been seriously ill for several months but the end came suddenly.

Mrs. Mason was born near Stoney Creek, her parents being William Stewart and Martha Stafford. She leaves one brother, Frederick Stewart of Corinth.

Besides her husband there are six surviving children:
William E. and Wallace H. Mason of Townsend,
Mrs. J. Alex Wallace of Simcoe, Mrs. F. Farrow of Hamilton,
Mrs. W. Kimball of Hyde Park, and Mrs. Geo. A. Ronson of Park Hill.
One daughter, Sarah, passed away in childhood.

She leaves also twenty-one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A very large gathering of relatives and friends from many parts of Western Ontario expressed by their presence and in floral tributes their high regard for the deceased.

Rev. E. J. Whan of Villa Nova conducted the funeral service at the residence on Sunday afternoon, and interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford.

Mr. and Mrs. Mason have spent most of the last 25 years in pastoral work in Middlesex County, where they have a large circle of friends, but returned to their old home for their declining years.
