The Late Peter Mason

The funeral of the late Peter Mason, who died last Thursday, 6 Jun 1919, was held to Oakwood Cemetery on Sunday afternoon from the residence of his son, Mr. Charles Mason.

The pall-bearers were Herbert Mason, 
John Mason, Stanley Cross, 
Lorne Marshall, Gordon Marshall and 
J. H. Thompson.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: Mrs. Alfred Harris of Detroit,
Mr. Owen Marshall and son, of Port Dover,
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Thompson of Woodstock
Mrs. Wm. Stevenson of Woodstock,
Miss Rose Wise of Toronto,
Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Hodge and Mrs. Chapin and son of Detroit.

Five children survive: 
Charles, Edward and Mrs. Wise of Simcoe, 
Mrs. Alfred Harris of Detroit, 
Mrs. J. H. Thompson of Woodstock. 
One daughter, Mrs. Owen Marshall, died in London a few months ago. There are 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The late Peter Mason was in his 90th year. He came to Norfolk County about 45 years ago, and before settling in Simcoe lived in Lynedoch, Port Dover and Port Ryerse. He was a bricklayer by trade.
