A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 12 of the
18 Sep 1919 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The funeral of Miss Annie Hayes-Jackson took place to Oakwood Cemetery yesterday afternoon.

Miss Jackson was the daughter and only child of the late Edmund Jackson by his first wife, who was a sister of the late Dr. James Hayes.

Her death took place, after a long illness from a pulmonary trouble, at the sanitarium in Brantford.

She lived practically all her life in Simcoe and at one time was well known to most of our townspeople as the efficient librarian of our town library.

[Compiler's Comment: Annie's mother had been married only 11 months when she died hours after her daughter's birth. Annie was raised by her father (who died when Annie was 10), Hayes grandparents and her mother's brother.]
