THE LATE DARIUS COLLVER

Another aged and highly respected citizen was removed by death on Wednesday, 1 Oct 1919, when Mr. Darius Collver passed beyond the veil at his home in Townsend after a brief illness.

Mr. Collver was born 10 Apr 1837 in Townsend, a few miles from his late home, to which he moved in 1906. He was the son of Michael Collver, and was the sole survivor of a large family.

In 186[9] he married Miss Sarah Orminta Henry of Beamsville, Lincoln County, who predeceased him nine years ago. One son, Clayton, on the homestead, and one daughter, Mrs. Ashton Summers of Colborne, survive.

In politics Mr. Collver was a life-long Liberal, and in religion a Methodist, being an active worker and honored officer in the Old Windham Church for many years.

The funeral was held from his late residence on Friday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. J. B. Snider of Paris, a former pastor at Old Windham, assisted by Rev. W. G. Waldron, the present pastor.

The pallbearers were the same friends who performed a like scared service when Mrs. Collver was laid to rest. Interment was made in the family plot at Waterford.
