Etc. -- Frank Coates' 1920 ice harvest
Introduction | Source Documents | Other Sources | Photocopies | Back

A lightly edited partial transcription of the Items of Local Interest column on page 12 of the
8 Jan 1920 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The local ice harvest, so far as that for domestic consumption is concerned, is over, and Frank Coates, who for years has supplied Simcoe's wants assures us that there is no chance of a shortage for the next season's supply, no matter how long or hot the summer might be.

His commodious storage houses are filled to the last  foot of space with ice of the finest quality, and this season's harvest is the earliest in the 20 years of Mr. Coates experience in the ice business.
