A lightly edited partial transcription of the LaSalette column on page 2 of the 21 Aug 1919 issue
of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

On Monday afternoon, 11 Aug 1919, death visited the home of James Casey Sr. of Windham, when his son Charles, who had suffered for many years with a severe heart affliction, passed peacefully away at the age of 33 years.

He was an usually bright and ambitious young man, and was always cheery.

He leaves to mourn his demise an aged father and one sister, Katie, at home, and three brothers in Detroit.

Marked tribute was paid to his memory in the eloquent discourse delivered by Rev. J. Mahoney, pastor, by the large attendance of sorrowing friends and neighbors who gathered at the grave to witness the last sad rites.
