A lightly edited partial transcription of the Local Happenings column on page 10 of the 
13 May 1920 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The sad news reached Delhi on Friday of the death of Mrs. Jack Pearl of Toronto. Mr. Pearl is a Delhi boy and very well known, as he was a leader in baseball and hockey in Norfolk and Oxford. Mr. and Mrs. Pearl were married just one year ago and the deepest sympathy is extended to him in his great loss. Deceased is survived by a baby boy two weeks old.

At the Church of Our Lady in LaSalette, on Thursday, Mr. John Parmer and Miss Clara Lawrence were united in marriage.

Last week Mr. and Mrs. John Sirr of Delhi celebrated the 65th anniversary of their wedding day. Mr. Sirr is 86 years of age and Mrs. Sirr, 83. Both are enjoying excellent heath. They lived for many years in the Parry Sound district and came to this community some eight years ago. They have a family of five boys.
