There died on Monday, the 21st, one of the pioneers of Norfolk County in the person of Mrs. George Wood, in the 92nd year of her age.

Mrs. Wood's maiden name was Miss Amy Campbell. She was born in Glengarry, where she spent her girlhood, coming to Kelvin as a bride. Nearly 70 years ago she married Mr. George Thomas Wood, son of the late Samuel Wood of St. Catharines.

In her death passes one of the oldest and most universally esteemed residents of the vicinity.

She united with the Congregational Church many years ago. The funeral was conducted on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Mr. Vail of Scotland, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the family plot in Scotland Cemetery.

Deceased leaves to mourn her departure three daughters, all at home, and two sons, the eldest Gordon, on the old homestead, and G. T. at Tranquility. Her husband and three sons predeceased her several years ago.

The bereaved will have the deepest condolence of the whole community in their sorrow.
