After Divorces

Detroit Journal -- Annie Marie LaBar Clause told the judge that she became the wife of Edway Clause at Waterford, Ontario, 1 Apr 1885; that he never supported her very well, and deserted her in 1889. She then came to Detroit, and still resides here. She was granted a decree for desertion.

Diana G. Dodds Hay says in her bill for divorce that she and Robert V. Hay were married at Waterford, Ontario, six years ago last February, and they lived  together until March of last year. She charges her husband with drink and desertion of herself and child.
