Round Plains

The not unexpected death of Mrs. James O. Townsend occurred a one a.m. on Saturday, 10 Mar 1900.

She has been a great sufferer from that fell disease consumption, which sufferings she bore with Christain fortitude.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Sparling in the Methodist chapel here on Monday and the interment took place in Greenwood cemetery.

Thus in the short space of three weeks the home of Mr. Townsend has been doubly bereft. First in the death of his only daughter Mary, and now that of his beloved wife. He with his three little boys are left to mourn their loss. He has the heartfelt sympathy of his neighbors and friends.
