A lightly edited partial transcription of an Items of Local Interest column on page 12 of the 7 Mar 1918 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Rev. William Laur Tisdale, a retired clergyman, died at his home near Utica, N.Y. on Saturday morning last.

Mr. Tisdale was an uncle of Mrs. W. P. Price and 
Miss Hannah Tisdale of Talbot Street north, Simcoe.

He was born in Charlotteville Township, 31 Mar 1828 
and lived there until he was 20 years of age, when he 
left for Fulton, N.Y. to study for the ministry.

He was a son of Ephraim Tisdale, J.P.

The late James M. Tisdale of Simcoe was a brother, and the late Hon. Col. David Tisdale a half brother. Two 
other half-brothers, Dr. T. Price Tisdale of California, 
and Mr. Alonzo Tisdale of Charlotteville survive.

Rev. William Tisdale was an able man and held many prominent charges throughout Northern New York. 
He was ordained in 1852 and engaged actively in ministerial work until 1907.

He is survived by a widow, two daughters and three sons.
