Martha McCall Tiearney

On Friday afternoon, 20 Feb 1925, after a brief illness in her home on Church street, Waterford, death claimed one of our most kindly hospitable women, in the person of Mrs. Joseph Tiearney.

Mrs. Tiearney was a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah McCall, early pioneers of Norfolk County. She was born in the township of Charlotteville in 1854.

In 1882 she was united in marriage to Mr. Joseph Tiearney, also of Norfolk. Four children were born to them, of whom three, Charles, Jean and May are still living.

For more than 30 years they made their home in Chicago where Mrs. Tiearney was a devoted member of several activities including, apart from her church, The Eastern Star, True Kindred and I.O.F. associations. A life long active member of the Episcopal or Anglican church, she will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends.

The funeral was conducted on Sunday afternoon in Trinity church, by Rev. F. G. Richard, the service being largely attended.

Interment took place in Oakwood cemetery, Simcoe.
The pall bearers were her relatives, Messrs. Bruce and Ralph McCall, and friends James Johnson, Samuel King, Wm. Kickley of Simcoe, and Alvie Erwin of Waterford.
