Henry Thompson, who has lived in our village on Main Street for the past six years, celebrated his 82nd birthday at his residence, Saturday, 31 Mar 1917.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are both in good health.
Mrs. Thompson will be 79 in September.

They greeted their sons and daughters at the birthday dinner, namely:
Thomas and John Thompson, south of town;
J. M. Thompson of Joliet, Ill.;
Mrs. W. J. Church of Waterford; and
Mrs. T. H. Vail of Scotland.

With the various tokens by the grandchildren, they enjoyed the day. They are both of sturdy Scotch stock: Mr. Thompson originally from Aberdeen and Mrs. Thompson from the Highlands, and as the old saying is: "A Scotchman is no older than he feels."

We wish them many happy returns of the day.
