A lightly edited transcript of the Port Rowan column on page 2 of 7 Nov 1918 Simcoe Reformer.

Mrs. Ida Stewart died at her home in Walkerville last week and her remains were brought here and interred by the side of those of her husband, Dr. George Stewart, in Bayview Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stearns and was born in Port Rowan 62 years ago.

She is survived by to sons, George of Saskatchewan and John of British Columbia, and two daughters, Mrs. Cowan of Port Huron and Mrs. McIntosh of Walkerville.

By the recent death of her brother, W. C. Stearns in this village, she is only survived by one sister, Mrs. Doan, who is the last surviving member of a family that played an important part in the early history of Port Rowan.
