Wm. Smith died at his residence on the north side of Friday night last.

He had been poorly for some time and suffered a paralytic stroke on Sunday
29 Apr 1900, which was followed by another on the following Wednesday,
from which he never recovered.

He leaves a son, George Smith, and a daughter, Mrs. [Reggie] Silverthorne,
to mourn their loss.

The funeral took place from his late residence on Monday afternoon, services being conducted in the Baptist church by Revs. F. C. Elliott and W. H. Haviland.

The interment took place in the Culver cemetery south of this place.
