A lightly edited partial transcription of the Port Rowan column on page 5 of the 10 Nov 1910 issue of the Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

A quiet wedding took place in this village on Tuesday last, at the home of Mrs. Barbara Spain, when her sister, Mrs. Catharine Brown was united in marriage to Mr. Darius Slingerland of St. Williams.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. B. Brown in the presence of a small company of friends.

.The presents were numerous, useful, and some were quite costly, one of which deserves special mention, it being a beautiful clock, presented with an address on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Spain, by a deputation on behalf of the Ladies' Aid, of the Baptist church, of which the bride was a member.

The happy couple took the afternoon train for Toronto, Niagara Falls and other points east.

Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Slingerland will reside in St. Williams. Mrs. Slingerland will be at home after December 1st.
