A lightly edited partial transcript of a page 12 item in the 11 Apr 1918 issue of Simcoe Reformer.
 

The invitation to the business man of Simcoe to come out and help revive the Simcoe Board of Trade met with only a partial response. 

Possibly 25 were present at the meeting on Tuesday evening in the town council chamber. Mr. J. B. Jackson was voted to the chair.

It was decided to proceed with the election 
of a new set of officers and make a strenuous effort to bring the board back to a state of usefulness to the town. 

The officers chosen were:
 

President Dawson F. Aiken
Vice President Grover Murdoch
secretary W. G. Jackson
treasurer M. M. Smith
Council Members Geo. J. McKiee
Geo. H. Luscombe
H. S. Falls
W. M. McGuire
H. B. Donly
C. E. Innes
Charles Martin
