Courtland

After months of suffering Mrs. Elizabeth Burnett passed away on Thursday morning at the home of her nephew, John G. Burnett.

The deceased was born in England and came to Canada with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sandham, when she was very young. They settled in Goshen and were among the early pioneers of Middleton.

She was twice married, her first husband being Nelson Anger, and after his death she married John Burnett, who predeceased her a number of years ago.

Mrs. Burnett was 83 years of age and was the last of eight children.

The funeral took place on Saturday from her late residence and was conducted by Rev. J. W. Silcox, assisted by Rev. H. D. Moore.

The pall-bearers were six nephews, Will Burnett,
W. P. Ronson, Alex, Edgar, W. A., and Aquilla Sandham. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. The interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery.
