the late john sanderson

John Sanderson, an old and highly respected resident of Windham, passed away at his late home near Delhi on Friday at the advanced age of 87 years.

Mr. Sanderson was born in Toronto in 1833, and came to Windham when a boy and went the greater part of his life in this township. He was a successful farmer, always taking an active part in municipal affairs.

His wife predeceased him three years ago, and he leaves a family of eight [sic] daughters and one son, namely:
Cyrus B. Sanderson of Flint, Michigan
Mrs. McClentic of Windham
Mrs. James Blayney of Royal Oak, Michigan
Mrs. Harry Merritt of Milwaukee, Wis.
Mrs. Wm. Summerton of Winnipeg
Mrs. Jos. Miller of Ypsilanti, Michigan
Mrs. A. Dick of Middleton.

He also leaves four sisters:
Mrs. Edward Longstreet of Delhi
Mrs. Harriet Pettit of Delhi
Mrs. Wilkinson of St. Paul, Michigan
and Mrs. Wilkes of Milwaukee, Wis.
Fifteen grandchild also survive.

The funeral was largely attended and the following gentlemen acted as pallbearers:
Messrs. John Dick, Wm. Schafer, Gideon Cole, 
Geo. Gehring, Geo. Ryder, and Charles Miller.

The floral offerings were beautiful, showing the high esteem in which the deceased were held by his many friends.
