A lightly edited item from the Items of Interest column on page 10 of the 27 Jun 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer

The death of Mr. John Rose took place on
Tuesday morning, 25 Jun 1918.

He was one of the large family of Mr. and
Mrs. William Rose, and for the greater
part of his life had been a farmer. For the
last few years he had been living in Simcoe.

His death was the result of a serious fall,
which occurred a short time ago, after
which pneumonia developed.

He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss
Maggie Kenney, and three sons and two
daughters, viz. Harry and George of Chicago,
Harvey and Mrs. Charles Black of Reno, Nev.,
and Mrs. J. P. Price of Detroit.

One sister and four brothers are also living,
one of them being Mr. A. G. Rose of Simcoe.
