A Quartette of Military Medalists

The parents of Corp. William Arthur Pamplin, M.M. (796696) (photo), now serving in France, have been notified by the officer commanding the battalion to 
which their son belongs, that he has been awarded 
the Military Medal.

The text of his award is as follows: 
This N.C.O. on 8 Aug 1918 repeatedly broke up enemy parties attempting to mass at the western outskirts of Rosieres. He also showed great coolness and daring 
in the handling of his gun.

Corp. Pamplin has since been reported dangerously wounded.

Pte. James B. Morrison, M.M. (796012] (photo), is another 133rd boy to receive the Military Medal. 
His mother, who moved to Toronto from Simcoe 
after her son enlisted, has been advised at follows 
by the officer commanding the unit to which 
Pte. Morrison now belongs: 
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty 
during the capture of Aubercourt and Ignacourt, 
on 8 Aug 1918. He repeated carried important 
messages under heavy machine gun and shell fire. 
He worked untiringly throughout the action. His services were invaluable in keeping his batttary commander supplied with information regarding 
the situation.
