A lightly edited partial transcription of a Port Dover column on page 12 of the 25 Jan 1917 Simcoe Reformer.

Carrie May Eagle, wife of William Phillips, passed away Thursday, 18 Jan 1917, in her 40th year.

To mourn her departure deceased leaves her husband, her stepson Lloyd Phillips, her son, Harry Phillips, and her daughters, Mrs. James Macdonald, Margaret and Ida Phillips.

Deceased, who had resided in the Port for the past seven years, was born in Woodhouse Township.

Interment took place at Woodhouse Church Cemetery, Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by 
Rev. Mr. Brand, pastor of the Methodist Church.

Owing to her genial and friendly nature, Mrs. Phillips 
will be missed by her circle of friends.
