A lightly edited partial transcription of the Births-Marriages-Deaths column on page 7 of the Thursday 16 Jan 1919 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

PETTIT. -- At Belmont, of Bright's Disease, on Tursday 9 Jan 1919, Hiram Pettit, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Brown of Belmont, Ont.

The funeral was held at Brantford on Sunday 12 Jan 1919 from the home of his son, H. A. Pettit, Erwin Street. Rev. A. Carr, Baptist minister of [Rossdale] church officiated.

The subject of the above notice was born near Simcoe on 26 Oct 1833, and was aged 86 years 2 months and 14 days.

He is survived by one son and five daughters, viz: H. A. Pettit of Brantford, Mrs. Wm. Brown of Belmont, 
Mrs. E. A. [Buel] of Walkerville, 
Mrs. Joseph McCabe of Brantford, 
Mrs. Wm. Woden of Hamilton, and 
Mrs. Ernest Porter of Windsor.

Messrs. D. E. and J. D. McIntosh of Simcoe are cousins.
