A lightly edited partial transcript of the Items of Local Interest column on page 12 of the 28 Nov 1918 issue of the Simcoe Reformer. [Compiler's Comment: Deceased was Henry B. Palmerton Jr., son of Henry B. Palmerton, grandson of Norfolk settler Henry Palmerton]

Mr. Henry B. Palmerton died on Saturday morning after a lengthy illness at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Palmerton.

Born 78 years ago in Charlotteville, he was the son of Henry Palmerton and Elizabeth Sovereen, both members of Norfolk's pioneer settlers [sic]. He lived in his native township until about 12 years ago.

He was a respected citizen and was described by a man who lived beside him for years as being an excellent neighbor.

The funeral on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock was under the auspices of the I.O.O.F., of which lodge he had long been a member. Rev. Mr. Newcombe conducted the service at Simcoe and the body was taken to Walsh for burial. Rev. Mr. McGowan of the Walsh Methodist Church being the officiating minister.

The pall-bearers were Messrs. Walter Cole, Robert Hoag, John Carvell, Wm. Gilbertson, Francis Jones and 
John Reeve, all fellow members of the I.O.O.F.

Mr. Palmerton leaves one son, Charles, of Galt, formerly of Simcoe.
