T. R. Nelles Passed

One of the oldest business men of this community passed away this evening at half past eight, in the person of Thomas Ransome Nelles, J.P.

He had been ill for several days and his death was not unexpected. The out-of-town member of his family were present at his bedside, including his son, Dr. Tom Nelles of Vancouver.

Mr. Nelles was born in Mt. Pleasant, Brant County, in January 1839, the youngest of the seven children of the late William Nelles, and of [his] family he came to be the last survivor.

For 40 years he has been the leading insurance and investment broker of this community,

He leaves a widow, who was a Miss Biggar of Brantford, and five children: Miss Nelles of Columbia University, New York; 
Mrs. Charles E. Innes] of Simcoe; 
Dr. Howard Nelles of Toledo, Ohio; 
Dr, Tom Nelles of Vancouver; and 
Flight-Lieutenant Douglas Nelles of the Imperial Naval Flying Corps.

The funeral will be held at 2:3o p.m. on Monday to Oakwood Cemetery.

The Late Mrs. T. R. Nelles

The death occurred 13 Jul 1930 in Simcoe of Georgiana Selina Biggar Nelles, wife of the late Thomas Ransom Hardy Nelles of Simcoe.

She was born 10 Jul 1849 in Smithville, daughter of the late Rev. Hamilton Biggar and Eliza Phelps Racey Biggar.

She leaves five children to mourn the less of a devoted mother: Mrs. Burcham Harding of New York and Coconut Grove, Florida; 
Dr. Howard W. H. Nelles of Toledo, Ohio; 
Mrs. Charles E. Innes of Simcoe; 
Dr. Thomas R. B. Nelles of Vancouver, B.C.; and Douglas Alexander Hardy Nelles of Simcoe.

The funeral took place 15 Jul 1930 from the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. Charles E. Innes of Simcoe.
