A lightly edited partial transcript of an item on page 9 of the 7 Nov 1918 Simcoe Reformer.

Mrs. Josephine Medai, the third of her family to succumb to influenza-pneumonia, died at the Emergency Hospital last Friday, after struggling for more than two weeks against the disease.

Her daughter, Frances, died at the hospital about 12 days previously, and a second daughter, a child of 9, Lillie, died during the week of 14 Oct 1918.

Several children survive, one of them, Stephen [sic], being in France. The father of the family died on the farm near Delhi, several years ago.
