Sudden Call

Mr. Daniel Matthews succumbed to an attack of heart failure about 10 o'clock yesterday forenoon. He had
been in his customary good health during the morning and had been out visiting a near neighbor.

He returned to his home complaining of a fluttering sensation in the region of the heart. His daughter,
Miss Ethel Matthews, summoned a physician, but
death took place before he appeared on the scene.

Mr. Matthews was born in Windham on his father's fine farm, just north of town, in 1842, and he spent his life
on that farm and in Simcoe, whither he retired on giving up farming 30-odd years ago.

His wife, who was a Miss Laurason, died 14 years since. One daughter, mentioned above is their only child.
A brother, E. C. Matthews, and a sister, Miss Matthews, live here.

The funeral to St. John's Cemetery, Woodhouse, takes place tomorrow afternoon.
