DEATH OF GEO. H. MABEE

Tillsonburg, 20 Dec 1918 -- The death of Geo. Henry Mabee occurred at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. C. H. Mabee, on Wednesday evening.

A week ago, Mr. Mabee was injured by being thrown from his buggy. He was driving north on the Ingersoll road, and as he approached the M.C.R. crossing, his horse was startled by a passing train and turning sharply, overturned the vehicle, Mr. Mabee being thrown out..

The horse ran back as far as Mr. Cody's farm and entered the barnyard, where it was caught. Mr. Mabee was picked up and brought to his home by Alf. Downing of Mt. Elgin, who was coming into town in his auto.

Mr. Mabee was 72 years old, and though he did not seem badly hurt, was unable to withstand the shock.

The funeral took place this afternoon. Deceased was a son of the late O.P.Mabee, and had lived all his life in the township, where he was widely known.

He was a prominent Liberal party worker.
