Lemuel L. Lefler

Waterford: The death of Lemuel L. Lefler occurred suddenly at his home at Waterford on Tuesday. He had worked the day previously but did not report on Tuesday. When he was not seen, police forced the door and found that he had passed away.

He was born in Waterford 27 Jul 1886, a son of 
Candace Howey Lefler and Lemuel Lefler. 
He attended Waterford School. 

He served overseas in the First World War with the 
133rd Battalion as sergeant and won the DCM and Military Medal. He had been a member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Club, Simcoe, and of the Waterford Branch, Canadian Legion.

He leaves one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Staples of St. Catharines, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Willis (Rose) Ferguson of Teeterville, Mrs. Horace (Olive) Ely of Simcoe, and Mrs. Irvine (Emily) Burtch of St. Catharines.

Mr. Lefler is resting at Mott Brothers' Funeral Home in Waterford, where the service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. with military honors. Burial will be in Soldiers' Plot, Greenwood Cemetery in Waterford.
