Couple Honored on 
Golden Anniversary

St. Williams: More than 70 called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Leask* Sunday afternoon and evening on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Lloyd Leask of Simcoe, sister-in-law, greeted the guests. Mrs. Levington Mattice poured tea. Mrs. Nina Willis of Toronto and Mrs. James Jones of St. Williams served the guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Leask received a telegram from their daughter, Mrs. James Loughram of Seattle, who visited them recently, but was unable to be present for the anniversary, also from a niece, Mrs. James Green of Long Island, New York.

Mr. Leask is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Leask of Windham Township. Three of his seven siblings are living: Ada, Mrs. C. A. Cavers of Buffalo; Tilla, Mrs. J. H. Woolley of Burford, and Lloyd Leask of Simcoe.

Mrs. Leask is the daughter of the late E. H. Widner of Simcoe. She has two sisters living: Stella, Mrs. H. W. Moe of New Westminister, and Nina, Mrs. Willis of Toronto. A twin brother passed 12 [sic] years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Leask were married in Colborne by Rev. W. Haight, minister of Old Windham Methodist Church.

They resided on a farm near Simcoe for five years, then they moved to Indian Head, Saskatchewan and farmed for 20 years. They have resided in St. Williams the past nine years. Mr. Leask was employed at the Forestry Station until his retirement two years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Leask have one daughter, Mrs. James Loughran of Seattle; two grandchildren, James Loughran of California and Francis Loughran of Seattle. 

Mr. and Mrs. Leask are very active and enjoy good health. They are faithful members of the United Church.
