The death of Alice Amelia
Dedrick, wife of John Lafortune of Rowan Mills, occurred at her home
on Tuesday after an illness of seven weeks. The deceased was in her
72nd year.
Born in South Walsingham,
near Port Rowan, she was married 51 years ago to John LaFortune.
Surviving are one son, Leo, at home, and one brother, Abraham
Dedrick of St. Williams.
The deceased was an active
worker in the Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held
from her late residence a 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with interment
in Port Rowan [sic] Cemetery. The Rev. James Taylor of
Houghton Baptist Church will conduct the service.
