A lightly edited partial transcription of the Local Items of Interest column on page 7 of the 
19 Dec 1918 issue of Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

The funeral of the late Mr. Levi Johnson of Port Rowan took place on Saturday, 
7 Dec 1918 from the residence of his son, Mr. Pharis [sic] Johnson, 303 Dalhouse [sic] Street, Brantford, to the family plot in South Walsingham.

Mrs. Johnson predeceased her husband 14 months ago. The late Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were 87 and 85 years of age respectively, and had lived happily together for 66 years. They had a family of 13 children, of whom 11 survive.

Rev. Mr. Peters of Marlborough Street Methodist Church conducted the service 
at the house and Rev. Mr. Rolph of 
First Houghton Baptist Church officiated at the grave.
