A lightly edited transcription of an item on page 1 of the 16 May 1918 Waterford Star newspaper. 

The funeral of the late Andrew Irwin was held yesterday at 1.30 p.m. to Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. H. O Newcombe officiating. The bearers were Messrs. I. D. Lawson, 
Chas. E. Boyd, James Storey, Jas. Peachey, R. E. Gunton and N. Challen.

Fitful downpours of rain did not prevent the turn out of a large number of citizens in recognition of the passing of this nonagenarian, who, even at four score years' was actively and widely known through Western Ontario in connection with the cooperage business.

There were present from outside points: 
Mrs. James Musson of Windsor;
Mrs. Geo. Niblock of Hamilton, 
Mrs. Peter Cottet of Toronto; 
Mrs. Chas. Kipp of Hamilton; 
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Musson of Walsh; 
Mr. R. R. Simmone of Brantford; and 
Mrs. Robert Shepherd of Waterford.

The funeral of the late Andrew Irwin took place on Sunday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law, 
Mr. Charles Crosbie on Water Street to Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. H. C. Newcombe conducted the service.

The pall-bearers were Messrs. I. D. Lawson, 
Chas. E. Boyd, James Peachey, R. E. Gunton, 
Newton Challen and James Storey.

A number of out of town relatives were present, 
including Mrs. Kipp and Mrs. Niblor of Hamilton, 
Mrs. Jas. Musson of Windsor, 
Mrs. Peter Collet of Toronto, and 
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Almonte of Silverdale.
