Hawkshaw at work in Delhi

On Tuesday morning between six and seven o'clock,
Mr. Sam Ryder found a new born baby girl neatly tucked in a small box, on his front lawn, about 20 feet from the front fence.

He took the valuable find into the house, and immediately notified Constable W. H. Sweet,
who was on the scene within half an hour.

After viewing the child and the situation he began his detective work, and after a thorough investigation and
a lapse of a few hours, he had the child delivered into
its mother's arms. -- Delhi Reporter
