A lightly edited partial transcription of the Port Rowan column on page 5 of the 28 Feb 1918 Simcoe Reformer newspaper.

Mrs. Archie Thompson died at her home in this village last Saturday, 23 Feb 1918, at the age of 63 years.

Deceased had been in poor health for some years, but grew worse during the past few months and the end came as stated above.

She was the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Winters, and was born in the State of Michigan.

She was marred twice. Her first husband was Carl Fick, a son of the late William Fick of Port Royal, and to them was born one son, Walter, now living in Port Huron, Mich.

Subsequent to the death of her first husband, she married Archie Thompson of this village, 23 years ago, and had lived here ever since.

The service was held at the home on Monday, and was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Smith and the remains were taken to Port Huron on Tuesday, accompanied my Mr. Thompson, and interred beside her first husband.

Beside the husband and son mention, a half brother and half sister also survive to mourn her loss.

Mr. Thompson has the sympathy of the whole village at this time of his sad bereavement.
