Death of Mr. Eben Edmonds

After an illness extending over fifteen weeks, Mr. Eben Edmonds, one of Simcoe's most prominent and prosperous merchants, passed away in the 71st year of his age at his home, 38 Norfolk Street north, as the result of a paralytic stroke.

The deceased was born in Wales, came to Smithville, Ontario, lived in Woodhouse for a number of years, and afterwards purchased the mill at Lynn Valley.

He was twice married, his first wife being a Miss Daniels, who predeceased him some years ago. From this union four daughters and three sons were born. The Misses Clara, Annie, Mabel and Edith, and Arthur and Roy, all at home. Frank died about five years ago. 

Mr. Edmonds was an industrious miller all his life, and for the past 20 years has carried on a business as seed merchant in the town. 

He was a man of sterling qualities and a prominent member and official of the Methodist Church, where he seldom missed a service.

His second wife was Miss Jessie Burt, who survives. 

A funeral service will be held at the family residence at 2.30 tomorrow afternoon (Friday). Interment in the family plot in Oakwood.
